Friday 18/06/2010 in Dalarna

The below shot is from the same lake- Barke. I did test to brighten it up but prefered it moody and dark as it was shot. We were lucky with the weather that night. The light was great and the sky kept on changing. I love the boat, it added something to the foreground. The colours have faded into pastel in the sun over the years. Or perhaps somebody would actually paint their boat in subtle pastel? More photos to follow...

Nearly Midsummer in Dalarna, Sweden

I went to my sister's wedding in Smedjebacken, Sweden on the weekend. The weather was quite up and down with rain, thunderstorm but also sunshine. There are plenty of lakes there and below is one shot from Friday night at Barke lake.

Japanese Gardens in Kildare

Went on a day trip to the Irish National Stud in Kildare. The most interesting part was the Japanese gardens. We were't so lucky with the weather but the colours were vibrant after the numerous showers...

Lovely morning in Botanic Gardens

I went for a stroll in Botanic Gardens on Saturday morning. It was the last nice day for now. Since that we've just had rain, rain and rain. It was peaceful and relaxing to walk around there. I think I would be there every day if I lived closer. Here are a couple of photos to day dream to.

Mondello Superbike Championship 23/05/2010

I went back to Mondello, this time for the bike races and with better access. The weather was great, perhaps not the best for shooting but I got a few that are acceptable.

Mondello Races 09/05/2010

I went to the Mondello Park races on Sunday. It was totally different to what I would normally shoot but great to try something new. I normally just watch races... We didn't have a press pass so it was all down to trying to shoot through the holes in the fence. The pit area was all open though and that's where I got something to show from the day. The clouds were lovely and fluffy and served well as a backdrop. I need more practise with shooting moving objects so going back in two weeks time. Motorbikes!

Little Monet setting in Dublin

There are a few trees along the canal that reminds me of some of the settings from some Monet's paintings. I took a few photos to maybe use as a reference when I start painting again. I would like to try out and do my own Monet versions.
